I posted this at the beginning of October.2016. While in a place where I was feeling uninspired and looking to reignite my passion for my craft as a hairdresser. At that time I had just made the choice to leave my full time position as an instructor at a hair school to pursue new opportunities in the film industry. To some it seemed crazy to leave a good stable job for a certain uncertainty, to me it was a challenge to succeed and an opportunity to experience new things. Aside from the crazy new adventures on set I am still building back that drive and passion that I know is inside me. I was reflecting on a time when I felt unstoppable in my career, a time when I was on fire. So much of that feeling of passion in a creative industry comes from the connections you make and the unbelievable talent of the people who make up a creative team or crew. I had no idea at the time I was thinking of all of this that Florence Leung, the amazingly talented photographer who was such a big influence and collaborator in my career at that time was struggling. Florence was suffering with depression and could not fight the demons she was wrestling. It was very sad to hear in the news that she didn’t make it. I don’t know that I will ever create things that compare to the work that Florence produced. What I do know is that her images will be there forever, there is a certain immortality when you create things and she will shine on in her beautiful works of art.
This is my overall favorite soft runway look I styled at Fashion Art Toronto 2014. It was such a pleasure to work with and be inspired by wonderful designers such as Mélissa Bolduc. I love the lived in geisha inspired hairstyle and how it compliments the soft wearable styles of Melow Par. Click the photos to have a look and like the facebook page of Melow Par by Mélissa Bolduc. My Undying love! Updo. there is nothing like doin’ up some hair i tell ya! Shine n spray; pins n gel. It’s like brain surgery meets uh me I guess because this is as close as I will get to brain surgery. I like to think of it as a form of sculpting. Just let the texture of the hair take control. Actually a recent study shows a direct correlation with the updo artist and the Jedi knight. Now I know you’re wondering why Jedi’s and what does this have to do with anything. Not that I have assumed to know your thoughts or anything 😉 But let us be honest the Jedi obviously have updo connections. look here:Anyways here is another Updo, I did a step by step at the salon check it out http://ow.ly/2Gaq9
Flotography: I have styled and blogged more than a few times about the lovely Florence Leung. Starting out as a model and really working the camera, she made a choice to expand her knowledge. She picked up a camera and make it work for her, good choice? I think so… I have worked with her and some other great people on a few of her earlier shoots, and I am sure will be working more with Flo in the future. Anyways the point of all of this is that working with an inspiring group of people allows the creativity to flow with ease. Combine a dash of creative inspiration from a few passionate minds and, well lets face it a little hard work, and you are left with art.

Hair: Dylan Raine

What I love most about this series of photo’s and specifically the hair is… There are a variety of diverse fashion looks yet the hair stays relatively the same throughout the series. However I feel that the variety of styles and settings allow the model to transform and take on a new personality and the hair ties into each of those personas very well. You see everything from 80’s Pop to punkish rockabilly to elegant extravagance, not an easy thing for one hairstyle to do.
Model: Dakary, soon to be represented = )

So yet again A variety of styles, This time the Hair changes Very Dramatically with the style changes. The white and psychedelic coloured backdrops and lighting effects combined with some very Bright Pink and bold accessories and beautiful make up artistry make a statement along with the dramatic hair. Explosive modelling by Dakary who is a growing stronger with each photo showcases everyone’s talents to the max.
